For Others to Survive, Hero Cop Offered His Life

A rookie policeman sacrificed his own life to fulfill the spirit of heroism, a perfect example of a true public servant that must be treasured for years to come.

Due to heavy rains that triggered massive flooding in Bayawan City and neighboring towns in Negros Oriental, PO1 Rodelyn Abueva Gonzaga was among the 72 trainees of PNP-SCOUT Class 40-2013 deployed to conduct search and rescue operations especially in the areas affected by flashfloods and landslides.

In the course of the operations amidst danger, the trainees without fear and hesitation saved the lives of the victims who were trapped inside their homes. Together, they clashed the overflowed Banga River in Bayawan however, PO1 Gonzaga suddenly lost his grip from the rope he was holding after a strong current of waves hit their group. Some of his colleagues made to recover from the splash except him.

PRO7 PNP Women holds Fun Shoot

The PRO7 Regional Women and Children Protection Desk held PNP Women Fun Shoot in celebration of the 2013 Women's Month last March 26 at the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) firing range in Barangay Sudlon this city.

Headed by PCI CHYREL RAMOS BONIAO, Chief, RWCPD, through the initiative of PSSUPT PATROCINIO COMENDADOR, PD, CPPO with the approval of PCSUPT MARCELO P. GRABO, JR., Regional Director, PRO7 the fun shoot was a big success.

CPPO Arrested Illegal Gun Manufacturers in Danao City

A team led by PSupt Rodolfo Albotra Jr., Chief of Provincial Intelligence Branch, CPPO conducted a buy-bust operation in St Peter Village, Barangay Taboc, Danao City, Cebu on January 24, 2013 which resulted to the seizure of P1 million worth of gun parts and gun-making machines.

Arrested during the operation were eight people identified as Antonio Gian, 71 years old, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, the alleged financier of the illegal gun manufacturing; Normanito Gian, 41 years old, and Ildefonso Capitan, 52 years old both residents of Barangay Guinsay; Benidecto Manulat, 52 years old, a resident of Barangay Cogon; Eldebrando Gian, 36 years old, a resident of Barangay Quisol; Gomersindo Bayo, 41 years old, a resident of Barangay Tuburan Sur; Jayme Silverio Sr., 54 years old, and Vivencio Villasan, 30 years old both residents of Barangay Tuburan Sur.
