Families of Fallen Cebuano SAF Members Receive Cash Assistance

The families of 3 Cebuanos Special Action Force members who were killed in combat in Mamasapano, Maguindanaoon January 25, 2015 received financial assistance from private individuals on February 9, 2014 during the Flag Raising Ceremony held at the PRO7 Regional Headquarters.

Mrs. Michelle Candano, wife of PO1 Windel Llano Candano of Dumanjug, Cebu; Dr. Christine Cempron, wife of PO1 Romeo Cumanoy Cempron of Consolacion, Cebu; and Mrs. Brenda Remoroza, relative of PO3 Junrel Narvas Kibete of Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental personally accepted the cash aid from Alta Vista Golf and Country Club, Cebu Country Club and friends/supporters of Police Regional Office 7.

PRO7 Recognizes LGUs Support for SWAT Training

Another batch of PNP SWAT Class 02-2014 graduated from the Special Weapons and Tactics Training (SWAT) conducted by the 6th Special Action Force Mobile Training Unit in coordination with the Regional Special Training Unit 7 on January 12, 2015 at Camp Ceperino, Genovia, Barangay Bahay, Sibonga, Cebu.

This undertaking was made possible through the help and support of Carcar City-Local Government Unit to PRO7’s thrusts and programs to gear, equip and to enhance the skills and capabilities of PNP personnel especially those assigned at the field. A total of Php 1.5 million was funded by the said LGU for the training.

PRO7 Holds Regionwide PNP Female Glock Challenge

It was a fine weather when the 2nd PRO7 Glock Challenge commenced on May 30, 2014at the CPRA Firing Range, Lapu-lapu City, Cebu. This time, it’s an all PNP women shooting competition of Police Regional Office 7.

The competition covered five (5)IPSC stages and was participated bysix-man team all-female uniformed personnel led by a PCO from the Regional Headquarters (RHQ), provincial and city police offices and Regional Public Safety Battalion 7 (RPSB7). Other highlights of the competition areteam relay and steel challenge.

Due to heavy rains that triggered massive flooding in Bayawan City and neighboring towns in Negros Oriental, PO1 Rodelyn Abueva Gonzaga was among the 72 trainees of PNP-SCOUT Class 40-2013 deployed to conduct search and rescue operations especially in the areas affected by flashfloods and landslides.

In the course of the operations amidst danger, the trainees without fear and hesitation saved the lives of the victims who were trapped inside their homes. Together, they clashed the overflowed Banga River in Bayawan however, PO1 Gonzaga suddenly lost his grip from the rope he was holding after a strong current of waves hit their group. Some of his colleagues made to recover from the splash except him.
