Another batch of PNP SWAT Class 02-2014 graduated from the Special Weapons and Tactics Training (SWAT) conducted by the 6th Special Action Force Mobile Training Unit in coordination with the Regional Special Training Unit 7 on January 12, 2015 at Camp Ceperino, Genovia, Barangay Bahay, Sibonga, Cebu.
This undertaking was made possible through the help and support of Carcar City-Local Government Unit to PRO7’s thrusts and programs to gear, equip and to enhance the skills and capabilities of PNP personnel especially those assigned at the field. A total of Php 1.5 million was funded by the said LGU for the training.
Out of 73 participants who successfully hurdled the 45-day rigid training, 20 of them came from Carcar City Police Station and the rest came from the neighboring towns of Carcar City.
No less than, Hon. Nicepuro L Apura, Caracar City Mayor witnessed the graduation ceremony. He congratulated the graduates and challenged them to do their best, to apply what they have learned from the training and to render utmost service to the people.
It was also revealed that the LGU of Carcar City already purchased 20 pieces of Kevlar helmet and bullet proof vests for its police station. Said LGU is also about to procure additional SWAT equipment namely: 1 unit 4x4 SWAT vehicle amounting to more or less P1.6 million and 21 pieces of M16 riffles amounting to P1, 680,000.00.
On the other hand, PRO7 Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PCSupt Orlando D Ualatwho represented the Regional Director PCSUPT PRUDENCIO TOM BAÑAS during the said activity, expressed his gratitude to the LGU of Carcar City for the generosity extended to PRO7.
