It is indeed a big accomplishment for Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) when operatives from Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) confiscated and seized loose firearms.
The team led by PSUPT ALET INTAC VIRTUCIO of NOPPO Provincial Intelligence Branch intercepted a Ceres Bus Liner at the Dumaguete City Port Area, Dumaguete City Negros Oriental on September 26, 2012. The bus is bound for Zamboanga from Dumaguete City via Pulawan Port, Dapitan City
Recovered and confiscated firearms are the following: seventeen (17) pcs caliber .45 pistol, two (2) pcs KG9 Submachine Gun, thirty seven (37) pcs magazine for caliber .45 pistols, six (6) pcs magazine for KG9 Submachine Gun and three (3) pcs silencer/ suppressor for KG9 Submachine Gun
Confiscated items were brought to Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) for proper disposition and inventory and were witnessed by PCSUPT SAMUEL MAHUSAY YORDAN, Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO7, PSSUPT EDWARD E CARRANZA, Provincial Director of NOPPO, Mr. Rex Santos of DYGB FM and other media representatives.
On October 2, 2012, another police operation of PRO7 was conducted by successfully implementing a search warrant against spouses Romy Ramas and Bianca Ramas at Southplains Subdivision, Lower Pakigne, Minglanilla, Cebu which resulted to the recovery of three (3) pcs. of cal .45 pistol, one (1) pc. of 9mm pistol, one (1) pc. magazine for AR-15 riffle, one (1) pc. magazine for 9mm pistol, two (2) pcs. magazine for cal .45 pistol, thirteen (13) rounds of cal .45 ammunitions, eight (8) rounds of 9mm ammunitions and assorted drug paraphernalia.
PCI GEORGE V YLANAN of RPIU7 who led the operation disclosed that only Romy Ramas was arrested during the operation while the other respondent, his wife, is still remain at large.
