The youngest members of Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) took oath before their loved ones and family in a ceremony held at the Regional Headquarters on December 3, 2012.
Officiated the oath taking was PRO7 Deputy Regional Director for Administration PCSUPT SAMUEL M YORDAN. He congratulated the 165 successful PNP applicants for the 2012 Second Semester PO1 Attrition Recruitment Program. The new breed in the organization comes from the different provinces of Central Visayas.
In his message, PCSUPT YORDAN challenged the recruits to perform their mandated duties and responsibilities with utmost certainty and proficiency. He added that the high expectations of PRO7 for their batch should not be perished by wrongdoings while in service.
He also reiterated the message of PRO7 Regional Director PCSUPT MARCELO P GARBO JR reminding the police trainees to bear in mind that the police service is a noble profession that requires 24/7 round the clock duty. That if they failed to fulfill their mandated duties and responsibilities, then as early as this stage, he frankly informed the recruits to leave the ranks and go home.
Since the organization needs dedicated and responsible police officers, PCSUPT GARBO reminded them not to let down the expectations of the community for the attainment of a safer place to live, work and do business. He pushed the trainees to render utmost public service that the society deserves to enjoy. The recruits were also challenged to submit themselves during training in preparation for their deployment to various units and offices purposely to combat against crimes and criminals in the region.
On the other hand, PSSUPT NOEL A GILLAMAC, Chief of RPHRDD on his part said that their office started accommodating applicants' since September 2012. Out of 554 application folders endorsed by the Ad Hoc Committee of their respective cities and municipalities, only 165 composed of 140 male and 25 female finest recruits passed the rigorous examinations conducted by the PRO7 Recruitment Screening Committee. The recruitment process subjected them to height and weight examinations, agility test, neuro-psychiatric test, drug test, medical/dental examinations and final screening interview.
They will be receiving a monthly basic pay of P14, 834.00 exclusive of allowances while undergoing training.
PSSUPT GILLAMAC turned-over the 165 trainees to PSUPT REX LAHER URBANO, Regional Training Director of Regional Training School 7.
Being appointed on temporary status, all new police recruits must undergo Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) at the Regional Training School 7, in Gaas, Balamban Cebu for six (6) months to acquire the highest standards of police discipline, industry, courtesy and value. Afterwhich, a Field Training Program (FTP) for another six (6) months in big cities within Central Visayas should be completed in order to have an actual observation and experience in the fields of investigation, traffic and patrol. Right after the FTP, the new Police Officers will also undergo PNP Modified Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit Training (SCOUT) for 45 days in Sibonga, Cebu.
