PRO7 Holds Regionwide PNP Female Glock Challenge

It was a fine weather when the 2nd PRO7 Glock Challenge commenced on May 30, 2014at the CPRA Firing Range, Lapu-lapu City, Cebu. This time, it’s an all PNP women shooting competition of Police Regional Office 7.

The competition covered five (5)IPSC stages and was participated bysix-man team all-female uniformed personnel led by a PCO from the Regional Headquarters (RHQ), provincial and city police offices and Regional Public Safety Battalion 7 (RPSB7). Other highlights of the competition areteam relay and steel challenge.

According to PSSupt Orlando D Ualat, Officer in Charge of PRO7, the said initiative is one of the best practices for it was the first time being conducted by Police Regional Office 7. Even though they are women in uniform, they are vulnerable to risk in enforcing the law while conducting police operations that this shooting competition enhances their firearm proficiency and boost their confidence while performing their mandated task as law enforcers. He also commended them for their commitment and passionate diligence to learn and experience the first-ever allPNP Female Glock Challenge.

The winners were the following;for individual aggregate awards, PInsp Sheryl Bautista was the Champion; PO3 JerybelLerioas 1st Runner Up and same time Champion in the Steel Challenge; PCInsp Sara Jane Reclaas 2ndRunner Up; SPO3 AlbeCodillaas 3rd Runner Up and SPO1 VilmaAbayan as 4th Runner Up. For the over-all team aggregate, CCPO bagged the championship and the winner for Team Relay; RHQ Team A was 1st runner up and CPPO 2nd runner up.

With the success of the 2ndPRO7 Glock Challenge, this Police Regional Office is planning for anothershooting competition to further enrich the capabilities of our policemen in the field of firearm proficiency and nurture solidarity of the PRO7 police offices.
