PRO7 PNP Women holds Fun Shoot

The PRO7 Regional Women and Children Protection Desk held PNP Women Fun Shoot in celebration of the 2013 Women's Month last March 26 at the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) firing range in Barangay Sudlon this city.

Headed by PCI CHYREL RAMOS BONIAO, Chief, RWCPD, through the initiative of PSSUPT PATROCINIO COMENDADOR, PD, CPPO with the approval of PCSUPT MARCELO P. GRABO, JR., Regional Director, PRO7 the fun shoot was a big success.

It was participated in by PNP Women from Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) and Police Regional Office Headquarters (RHQ) who have the skills in marksmanship. Gracing the activity were PSSUPT PATROCINIO COMENDADOR, PD, CPPO, who gave the welcome remarks and PSSUPT NOEL GILLAMAC, C, RPHRDD, representing the Regional Director as guest of honour and speaker along with PSSUPT MARIANO P. NATUEL, JR., OIC, CCPO who joined the two officers during the ceremonial shoot.

The competition took two stages using 18 round ammos. The 1st stage started with 3 target papers, 6 ammos, and shooting targets in tactical sequence while the 2nd stage has position 1 with 2 targets using 6 ammos, shooting tactical sequence moving to position 2 having 3 targets, using 6 ammos, and shooting in the same tactical sequence.

The winners for the team competition were MCPO as 3rd placer, CPPO got 2nd place while CCPO bagged champion. The individual winners were PO3 Jerybel Lerio of CCPO as the 3rd placer, PCI SARA JANE RECLA of RHQ as 2nd placer while PI SHERYL BAUTISTA of MCPO was declared Champion.

The fun filled day challenged PNP women and other would-be gun enthusiasts to develop more the skills of marksmanship—considering shooting not just a duty but also a form of recreation. The organizers overwhelmed by the turn out of the activity, were even more challenged to encourage more PNP women to join next year's competition.
