Oath-taking of 232 New Police Officers 1
The 232 new police recruits of the Philippine National Police bid farewell to their loved ones and family as they are about to depart for Balamban, Cebu to spend six months training shortly after they took their oath on January 30, 2012 at the Police Regional Office 7 Headquarters.
Officiating the oath taking ceremony is PRO7 Regional Director PCSUPT MARCELO P GARBO JR. He disclosed that the 232 successful PNP applicants for the PO1 Recruitment Program (Phase 3) come from different provinces of Region 6, Region 7 and Region 8.
In his message, PCSUPT GARBO reminded the new recruits to maintain a high standard of morality and professionalism and perform their mandated duties and responsibilities with utmost certainty and proficiency.
Being appointed on temporary status, he added that all new police recruits must undergo Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) at the Regional Training School 7, in Gaas, Balamban Cebu for six (6) months to acquire the highest standards of police discipline, industry, courtesy and value. Afterwhich, a Field Training Program (FTP) for another six (6) months in big cities within Central Visayas should be completed in order to have an actual observation and experience in the fields of investigation, traffic and patrol. Right after the FTP, the new Police Officers will also undergo PNP Modified Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit Training (SCOUT) for 45 days in Sibonga, Cebu.
PCSUPT GARBO also challenged the recruits to be submissive during training in preparation of their deployment to various units to combat against crimes and criminals in the region.
PSSUPT PETRONELLI BALDEBRIN, Chief of RPHRDD on his part said that their office started accommodating applicants’ since November 21, 2011 to January 6, 2012. Out of 405 applicants, only 197 males and 35 females passed due to the strict adherence of the standard qualifications in the selection and recruitment process. The qualified applicants admitted to undergo training composed of five (5) recruits from Region 6, two hundred twenty-one (221) from Region 7 and six (6) from Region 8. The recruitment process subjected them to agility test, neuro-psychiatric test, drug test, medical/dental examinations and final screening interview.
They will be receiving a monthly basic pay of P13, 492.00 exclusive of allowances while undergoing training.
PSSUPT BALDEBRIN turned-over the 232 trainees to PSUPT REX LAHER URBANO, Regional Training Director, Regional Training School 7.
