NAPOLCOM Central Office Lauded PRO7 Policeman

Another pride from Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) is an awardees’ of the NAPOLCOM 45th Anniversary Celebration on September 8, 2011 held at the NAPOLCOM Central Office, Makati City.

In a memorandum signed by Commissioner Eduardo U Escueta, Vice Chairman and Executive Officer of NAPOLCOM dated September 6, 2011, SPO1 Osorio A Ramiso Jr., assigned with the Regional Police Community Relations Division is among the seven (7) PNP Members to be given plaque of commendation for showing gallantry and exceptional courage in the performance of duty out of nominees from the different regions nationwide. No less than DILG Secretary Jesse M Robredo handed the awards.

SPO1 Ramiso is known in the region for his act of heroism as demonstrated on October 11, 2010, at the Pulis Kapit-Bisig Multi-Purpose Cooperative situated in Uytengzo Street, Barangay Sambag 1, Cebu City. When at the risk of his life and beyond the call of duty, he engaged in an intense and armed encounter with the two (2) armed robbers hitting both of them at the chest, resulting in their apprehension and the recovery of a loot money amounted to P113, 000.00, two firearms and a gate away vehicle, a deed of worthy of emulation among his fellow officers in the police service.  The suspects were allegedly members of the Casimero 'Meloy' Garcia robbery group.

Said policeman earlier received the highest recognition at the regional level when Medalya Ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit) was granted to him at the headquarters of Police Regional Office (PRO) 7.
