Police Regional Office 7 Promotes 965 Policemen
Promoted to the next higher rank are the nine hundred sixty-five (965) police officers in Central Visayas.
In a formal ceremony held at PRO7 Headquarters on August 19, 2011, the pinning of ranks was administered by PRO7 Regional Director, PCSupt Ager P Ontog Jr. with the attendance of the command group, directorial staff, directors from the City Police Office and Provincial Police Office and relatives.
PCSupt Ontog applauded the newly promoted policeman and policewomen from all over the region to include those from the National Support Units (NSUs) of their well-deserved promotion. He said along with their success aside from the additional salary increase are the bigger responsibilities in keeping peace and order in their respective area of assignments.
On the other hand, revealed by PSSupt Ernie S Taleon, Chief of RPHRDD7, the promotion was part of the Phase 1 CY 2011 2nd Level Regular Promotion Program in the Regional Office. Of the total newly-promoted police officers, 27 are Commissioned Officers and 938 are Non-Commissioned Officers from the different PRO7 offices broken down as follows: 5 from police chief inspector to police superintendent; 14 from senior inspector to chief inspector; 7 from inspector to senior inspector; 1 from senior police officer 4 to police inspector; 105 from senior police officer 3 to senior police officer 4; 23 from senior police officer 2 to senior police officer 3; 21 from senior police officer 1 to senior police officer 2; 394 from police officer 3 to senior police officer 1; 281 from police officer 2 to police officer 3; and 114 from police officer 1 to police officer 2.
Those newly promoted officers from the different lower offices/units are set to have their pinning of ranks on August 22, 2011 at their respective headquarters.
