There is no stopping PRO7 in its intensified campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms.

On July 29, 2017 at around 8:00 o’clock in the morning, LEODEGRECO “Greco” SANCHEZ, son of the former Vice Governor of Cebu, Gregorio Sanchez Jr was arrested, together with JOLBERT ABELLA JACABA, GLENN LAZAGA NACION, and MARICEL GREGORY, through the implementation of search warrant by the joint operatives of Provincial Intelligence Branch of CPPO led by PSUPT JOIE YAPE JR, Tuburan Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of CPPO, Regional Intelligence Unit, and RMU7, in his farm at Barangay San Juan, Tuburan, Province of Cebu.

Greco Sanchez has been in CPPOs list of High Value Targets and has been under surveillance by authorities.

Recovered pieces of evidences were several firearms and ammunition, firearm replicas and drug paraphernalia.

Cases for Violation of Republic Act no. 10591 (Comprehensive Law On Firearms And Ammunition) and Violation of Republic Act of 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act Of 2002) will be filed against the suspect(s).

Showdown of CDM Forces and Resources

On July 21, 2017, barely days after the assumption as the new Regional Director of Police Regional Office 7, PCSUPT JOSE MARIO M ESPINO is seen inspecting the police units under his command. The regional director immediately called for the conduct of Civil Disturbance Management showdown of resources and demonstration of skills in anticipation of the rallies that will be staged by sectoral groups and protesters during the conduct of President Rodrigo R Duterte’s State Of The Nation Address.

Two Hundred Four (204) police personnel from the different city and provincial police offices composed the CDM platoons. The Bureau of Fire Protection 7 sent its resources in support to the PNP. The showdown and inspection aimed at gauging the readiness of the personnel deployed on CDM in handling demonstrations.

PCSUPT ESPINO expressed that the police officers deployed on CDM are directed to observe maximun tolerance in dealing with the protesters, and assures that the PNP will respect and uphold human rights.
